As soon as your child expresses an interest in letters and words you can start them with the first book. The younger the child the slower you should move forward in the beginning.
Absolutely not. In our program we recommend that you refer to each letter by it's sound, not it's name. Children that have not had the alphabet introduced to them are able to learn the sounds first. The names can be taught later. If the child has already learned the alphabet you can still easily teach them the sounds and encourage them to refer to each letter by it's sound as you progress through the program.
Yes, it is possible to work with several students at once, the author recommends about 5 children to one teacher is good for the starting Pre-Primer program. As the students move into Sets 1,2 and 3, the teacher will be able to work with larger groups, such as a classroom setting.
The complete instructions for the Pre-Primers, including the Know
Your Sounds segment are included on the instructional cassette.
Following along with the cassette you should be able to introduce each new sound
to your child. Working with your child each step of the way will greatly
improve your own reading skills. This will be available soon, the sales
department and the author would be happy to talk to you over the phone to help
you begin the program.
Please email the sales department for info on returning your damaged book for replacement.

There
are a lot of factors that may affect the length of time it takes to complete the
course, including the age of the child and the time the parent can spend with
them. An average child of 6-7 (K to 1st grade) can process 10 to 15
minutes a day, increasing their focus time as they progress. If you were to
spend that time 3 days a week the child could complete the program in less than
a year. If you start at a younger age, it might take longer, and if the child is
older and already has some comprehension of reading methods it might take less
time. (Read about Max, a real child, we are following his progress on the
website at http://easypathtoreading.com/max

We
joke that when the child is finished the program they could read War and Peace.
Of course, the material might be too mature for a youngster but they could
actually read it.
One of the really exciting features of our program is how we teach the children to ‘decode’ words. They learn how to process words they have never read before so they are able to read things around them in their daily life very soon in the program. We aren’t just teaching them the words in our book, we are teaching them how to read ANY words. Within the first week a younger child will begin to comprehend the whole new world opening up for them. It’s very exciting to see this in your own child.
The author added: In our after-school program, which
meets twice a week, some students are completing it in six months. In a
classroom situation, students may not finish it as quickly, because it is not
easy to listen to every child read every day. But only my slower students
do not complete it in a year. And even they do so by the end of the second
year.
Of course, there are students with learning difficulties who are going to take
longer, but with patience and persistence, they will complete the program and
will be competent and confident readers.
